A Great Man Smiled At Me!

Yesterday (5th October 2009) was a great day for me. I met Tun Dr. Mahathir, our former Prime Minister. It wasn't planned. My dad picked me up from school and he took me straight to UiTM campus where Tun had a function. He asked me to wait outside because he had things to do. I was at the right place at the right time. This great man smiled at me as he was leaving :-)

This is a biggest chocolate cake that I have ever baked . I baked 2 different cakes and placed one on top of the other. The cakes were specially baked for Uncle Boy and his family who came during Hari Raya.

My Hobby

I visited my aunt, Mak Long, at Ayer Keroh Malacca R&R this Hari Raya. She operates a refreshment stall there. Because there were too many customers, I helped her at the cash register. Using the cash register was easy but I prefer to calculate the total payable and balance due manually. This helped me improve my Math. My dad helped by washing the dishes. We spent a couple of hours there before returning to Dungun.

My Home

As I mentioned in my earlier post, I live very near the South China Sea. My house is just a few meters from the beach and I don't have to really walk to the beach to enjoy its beauty. All I have to do is just go to my lawn! My house was built about 3 years ago and I think it is a very nice and beautiful house. You can see it yourself here. As my house has quite a large grassy lawn facing the sea, I spend most of our afternoons and evenings there playing football, frisbee, and other games with members of my family. I also like to fly kites. My family loves to barbecue outside. We usually do so 2 or 3 times weekly. Here is also a picture of a simple barbecue recently. On that day, we had fresh crabs. Because we live near the sea, fresh seafood is very easy to get.

My Favourite Time

I live right infront of the South China Sea. My house is just about 20 meters from the beach. During weekends when the weather is fine, my dad will take us for a morning swim. Although I cannot swim well, I enjoy being in the water with my dad and brothers. Recently my dad bought an underwater camera and we took some pictures. Here is a picture of me in the water. Amazing, isn't it? Being close to the sea is so much fun. The water here is very clear and clean.

Happy Hari Raya

I celebrate Hari Raya. Hari Raya is the yearly festival celebrated by muslims all over the world after the month of Ramadhan. During the month of Ramadhan, muslims fast from dusk to dawn refraining from food and drinks. We are also prohibited from doing any acts considered sinful. I started fasting since I was 7 years 0ld. It isn't difficult and you can get used to it very quickly.

Hari Raya this year is on 21st September and my mom and I plan to bake cakes and biscuits. But because mom is also busy with her office work and I myself have to attend school, we may only be able to bake two or three small cakes and just a couple of biscuits.

This Hari Raya my family and I will visit both our grandmas in Kuantan and Kuala Lumpur (KL). Kuantan is about 130 kilometers south of Dungun and KL is another 300 kilometers to the west. KL is Malaysia's capital city.

I am a 10-year old schoolboy at Sura Primary School, Terengganu, Malaysia. I am the youngest in my family and I have 3 brothers. My eldest brother is 19 years old and is an undergraduate studying accounting, my second brother who is 15 is studying at Intan Zaharah secondary school and my third brother who is 14 is studying at Sura Secondary School. My father is a university professor and my mother is a secretary.

I enjoy baking cakes and cupcakes. I always help my mom who can bake cakes very well. I'm learning from her. I especially like to bake chocolate cakes. I will share my favorite recipe in this blog so that you can try it yourself.

If you wish to taste my cakes, please let me know. Maybe I can send some to you. I don't know how to, but I can ask my Dad to help. And if you like them so much, maybe you can order some from me. I'm not doing this for business, but just to share my interest with you.
